The YMCA Preschool has been a staple in the Corry community for over  40 years. We strive for a happy, nurturing atmosphere where children function both independently and as part of a group setting.

We have demonstrated a commitment to providing a high quality program for young children and their families.  Our greatest emphasis is placed on the quality of interactions among staff and children and the developmentally appropriateness of the curriculum – what really happens to the children. Health and safety, staffing, staff qualifications, physical environment, and administration are all considered, but primary consideration is given to the nature of the child’s experience.

Educational experiences are fostered by teachers, children and parents through routines, organized games, arts and crafts, computer skills, audio-visual tools, knowledge and appreciation of life and lives around us.

Socialization takes place automatically in the program. Children learn to share, respect other

people, their belongings, their feelings and likes and dislikes

Arts and Crafts are great for hand eye coordination, fostering creativity and fine motor development.

Field trips and presentations add to the overall preschool experience. Past activities have included the PA Game Commission and Sarge, a tour of Corry Fish Hatchery, PA State Police Station, Port Farm and visits from the Erie Zoo.

Swimming and Gross Motor Recreation round out of program. The pool and gym facilities with expert instructor provide the basis for a diversified, high quality preschool program. We are proud to include Free Swimming Lessons, Gymnastics and Youth Sports.
